Global chaos

Content from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The world has experience several economic crisis since the beginning of the industrial era. Nevertheless, the increasing role of money and the globalization of our economy will make the next crisis even more painful and destructive than before. The forces of globalization have caused major changes in the type of threats and opportunities facing humanity. In many ways the world already operates as a single society, where everyone’s activities affect everyone else.

Environmental damage that crosses international borders, nuclear weapons proliferation, terrorism, unchecked national militarism, international crime, cruel regimes, anarchic states and refugees are all examples of issues that cannot be fully addressed by individual national governments, or even by voluntary multilateral treaties and agreements. There are several reasons that could trigger the dawn of capitalism as we know it.

Peak oil

Oil runs out before an economically viable replacement is devised, leading to global chaos. All the major systems that depend on oil, including manufacturing, trade, transportation, agriculture, and the financial markets that serve them, will begin to destabilize. The boundaries between politics, economics, and collective paranoia will dissolve.

Finance

Markets fail worldwide, resulting in economic collapse: mass unemployment, rioting, famine, and death. Countries begin to fight again each other and eventually start the use of weapons of massive destruction.
