Israel
An important event was the restoration of the state of Israel in 1948 and the control of Jerusalem by the Israelis. The rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem has not taken place yet but right-wing Jewish groups would like to remove the Dome of the Rock, which is sacred to Muslims, to rebuild the Temple on that site.
Present natural disorders
Since 1960 there have been an ever increasing number of violent hurricanes, earthquakes, and volcanic activity worldwide. We have experienced storms that are supposed to occur every 500 years, returning to visit us within 10 years or less
Weapons of Massive Destruction
The Book of Revelation talks about the massive and sudden destruction of millions of people. The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, had a profound effect on prophecy believers.
2 Peter 3:10 reads: "The day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire."
The Internet
The Book of Revelation presupposes some kind of world wide communication system. For example, when the martyrs, the two witnesses, are killed in chapter 11 of Revelation, it says the whole world will gaze at their dead bodies. The next step would be a geopolitical power or force that would take control of the entire world with global communications. Fortunately, the Internet has not been designed to be controlled by a minority.
A world government
One of the things that is required for a literal interpretation of the Book of Revelation is the kind of global economic network, both communications and finances and political alliances, that could only be possible now in the late 20th century. The term New World Order refers to a belief or conspiracy theory among apocalyptic religious and various political groups, especially in the United States, that some powerful secret group has created a secret plan, known as the New World Order (NWO), to rule the world via a world government.
There are a number of different ideologies related to this belief; some groups are religiously motivated, and believe that the agents of Satan are involved. There are others without a religious perspective on the matter, known as illuminus. They operate outside of social, legal and political restraint, gathering information and evidence on world events that are considered instigated by another group of illuminated individuals called the Illuminati. While the Illuminati supposedly work behind the scenes to create conditions favorable to a New World Order, the illuminus gather evidence and take direct action, influencing groups to prevent the New World Order attaining a foothold. These illuminus believe that the totalitarian society has already arrived in a subtle form.
The understanding of these believers is that the NWO will be created by a military coup, using UN and American troops, against all the nations of the world to bring about the One World Government. The U.N. will be dissolved and replaced by the Federation Earth which will become the Antichrist One-world Government. There was a belief among some believers in this thesis that this process would begin in 2000, set in motion by the predicted Y2K computer crisis causing widespread social disorder.
Other perspectives on this matter relate to globalization and various intellectual movements evolved from Marxist "internationalist" ideology, such as Social Democracy and Socialism, aiming to homogenize cultures and values by political normalization, as pointed out in the European Union's gradual "communautarian construction" scheme of a common economic and legal framework for all countries. Some political groups, such as the Club of Rome and the Internationale Socialiste (to which the French, British and German parliamentary Left-wing parties belong), openly advocate these goals.
Some predictions made by users of this term of events that will occur under the NWO include:
- The abolition of private property rights and gun ownership
- world-wide perequation under UN control
- all national and local elections controlled by the UN
- the US constitution replaced by the UN charter
- only approved religions will be allowed to exist – as parts of the One World Religion, or alternatively mandatory secularism with all religions made illegal
- nterdiction of politically incorrect opinions by UN laws and charters, such as statements deemed discriminatory, critical of minorities, anti-feminist, anti-homosexual or illiberal
- home schooling will be illegal and there will be a UN-approved curriculum
- even more radical perspectives fear military bases will be turned into concentration camps to confine those who defy the NWO, as prisoners of opinion.
The Mark of the Beast
The verse can be interpreted in such a way that some point in time, someone will put into effect a system of personal identification, without which, anybody who will not subscribe to it, will be cut off from any and all commercial transactions: he would not be able to buy food, services and other items, neither could he sell his production, whatever that may be.
Some prophetized that this mark is a computer chip that will be implanted when the Antichrist came onto the world scene. He will use this mark to control his followers. Trading, buying and selling will be based on the mark. For the disappearance of local currencies, it is supposed that present stock market and banking system will have to made collapsed and replaced. Money is already mainly electronic and in Western countries most transactions occurs through credit card which is basically cashless.
Today, affluent people rely on their cell phone, car and credit cards, all of which are materialized by a microchip. Public agencies use biometrics for such things as preventing welfare fraud and determining eligibility for health care benefits. The need to secure borders against terrorists have convinced already several countries (USA, France, Germany, UK, …) to implement electronic ID with biometrics personal identification.
Once the biometrics devices are implemented in human beings, they can be monitored by government satellites that will use global positioning system (GPS) technology to track implanted people. In fact all the different components are already used on a daily basis.
Echelon
Echelon is a vast worldwide network of eavesdropping stations such as the one in Sabena Seca, Puerto Rico controlled by the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, Maryland and operated by five countries : the U.S., England, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The system is capable to intercept phone , calls, e-mails, faxes, ATM and credit card transactions, satellite communications. More about Echelon
Human implantable tags
Tiny radio frequency identification, or RDIF tags have been embedded in livestock and pets in the millions in recent years as a more secure form of identification than external tags.
The market for human implantable tags is in its infancy but a company called Applied Digital has developed a tiny transceiver that is inserted under the skin of the arm or hand with a syringe and is powered by muscle movements of implantees. http://www.verichipcorp.com/content/solutions/verichip
The implantable transceiver sends and receives data and can be continuously tracked by GPS technology. The company introduced its products as a way to increase benefits to child care facilities, decrease losses to businesses, and protect Americans who now fall prey to identity theft. It claims to have already customers in the fields of law enforcement, security and medicine.
For instance, it can identify individuals for e-business security, check certain biological functions and alert a monitoring facility if it detects a medical emergency.
A national identification system via microchip implants could be achieved in two stages. Upon introduction it will be only a voluntary system or reserved to certain categories. After there is a familiarity with the procedure and a knowledge of its benefits, implantation can be made mandatory and justified by national security (immigrants, terrorists, criminals).
